My weight this morning is: 264 lbs. I surpassed this weeks goal of a 4lb loss by losing 5 lbs. Next weeks weight loss goal is 2.5 lbs.
This week I really stepped it up a bit with exercising. I only had 1 rest day.
Monday I worked out for 2 hours.
Tuesday I did the couch to 5k for 30 minutes
Wednesday I worked out for 80 minutes.
Thursday was my rest day, I hung out with my boyfriend.
Friday I worked out for 2 hours.
Saturday I ran outside with the 10k training group AND I went to bodyworks so that was a 90 minute workout.
Today, Sunday, I’m going to do 1 hour and 45 minutes. (I did Week 3 Day 2 of the Couch to 5k today and it was really hard. My calves were burning so bad I didn’t think I would make it thru the 2nd 3-minute interval and then in Bodyworks I was just tired and weak . I’m gonna take a day off from Bodyworks. Also I’m having a slight left knee issue. It doesn’t bother me when I’m running. But when I do lunges and squats it hurts and when the trainer has us on our knees to do floor work it KILLS me. I really hope whatever the issue is with my left knee that it’s caused by being overweight. Because I will LOSE weight and then the issue will be resolved. I hope its not something else.)
Including today I went to Bodyworks 5 times this week. I’m really weak and this weight training is helping. I didn’t start feeling sore till yesterday.
The run with Black Girls Run Phoenix this morning was great. There was 3 other girls there, they are so nice and supportive. One of the girls was more of a walker like me. I pushed myself to run twice during the walk. It was difficult. I did a little over 1 mile. I WAS planning to do 3 miles but then I heard coyotes howling and got completley spooked, went to my car and came home. I was a little dissapointed since I had driven 30 minutes to get there, but I’m a scaredy cat. I’m scared of animals, I’m scared of dogs, I’m scared of snakes and I am DEFINITELY scared of coyotes.
My diet this week was really good except for a couple of too low calorie days (under 1000 calories). If I sleep during the day, then I wont get in all my calories. The last couple days of going to bed early and getting up early has been great for my nutrition. I was able to get in up to 1500 calories which is good.
I don’t know if I’ve addressed in this blog why I’m trying to have higher calories (1500 – 1800). The reason is because my ultimate goal is to be a FIGURE competitor. When I get to the contest prep stage of this journey, I’m really going to have to cut my calories. If my calories are already too low, what will I then have to cut it to at contest prep time? If I’m eating under 1000 calories right now, come contest prep time I’m going to have to cut it to 500? So I’m trying to keep my calories up so that when contest prep time comes I will only have to cut it to 1200 – 1300. My sleeping schedule makes it hard for me to get all those calories in but I’ve been working on my over sleeping the past couple days.
I cannot express how IMMENSELY helpful it is to have a MEAL PLAN and to pre-cook my food in advance. It really takes the “thinking” out of the equation. The ONLY things I’ve eaten this week were the foods on my MEAL plan, albeit not in the order written. Those meals are so good, OMG the steak and onions and polenta provencale is sooo good as is the lemon cilantro quinoa salad. The tuna/guacamole/chia seeds snack is so tasty and filling for such a small serving.
Anyway I have to run to LA Fitness now. How was your week with exercise and nutrition?
