Measurement Results

I mentioned that my trainer took my measurements last Wednesday. The results are:
my bodyfat has remained at 45% so he says we gotta work at my cardio and diet more, which I’ve just started being more strict on both for the past 2 weeks.

progressI am getting smaller though.

I lost an inch in my arms, 6 inches at my waist, 2.5 at my hip, and a half inch in my legs.

This shows that my body is responding to the exercise but is withholding body fat.

Monday my trainer wants to go over my sleep schedule, how often I’m eating and what medications I’m on.

I’m surprised that my body is holding on to body fat, I wonder if that has something to do with why I am losing weight slowly compared to what I’m eating and exercising. I’ve only lost 2 pounds since last week and I feel like with the deficit in my diet and exercise it should be more. I’ve dropped my calories really low, to about 1300 a day. I won’t keep it this low but I felt it was necessary to push through this plateau and it is working, I’m losing, just slowly. But that’s better than gaining weight which is what I was doing up to 2 weeks ago.

It takes 21 days to form a habit and i’m at Day 14, hopefully I will lose some fat in the upcoming weeks.

Have any of you had trouble losing fat? What did you do to overcome it?

I ramdomly found your page from visiting okcupid. I’m planning on moving to Phoenix soon and thought I’d take a look at the local dating pool. lol I just wanted to say keep up the good work. It’s not easy but consistency is the key. The program I’ve been on has worked really well for me. It’s called body by vi. If you’re interested, check it out at I met a guy over the weekend that lost over a hundred lbs using this so maybe it’ll work for you.

🙂 Good luck!!! and stay strong!!!!!

p.s. please excuse my plug I don’t usually put my stuff out there randomly like this but I saw your post about getting discouraged and wanted to at least introduce you to bodybyvi.

And one more thing…is calorie restriction the best way to go? I’ve heard different things. Especially from the paleo diet folks. Basically they say that you gotta eat more than you think to keep metabolism up otherwise body shuts down into fat storage mode. So as long as your eating lean meats, plenty of fruits/veggies and good fats then you’ll be fine. What do you think?

I’ve heard of Body By Vi. I’d rather just eat whole foods like chicken, broccoli and yams than drink shakes. I’m not doing any weight loss systems, like Jenny Craig or Weight Watchers or Body by Vi.
Calorie restriction is what is working for me right now. When I was eating more, I was gaining weight and plateuing, now I’m losing weight. Losing weight is my goal. When I start lifting heavy weights on a regular basis I will increase my calories. Right now my energy expenditure does not justify high calories. Besides I’m eating 3-5 meals a day of healthy whole foods and I’m taking a multi vitamin and fish oil supplement. I have energy and I’m not hungry. I don’t think I should eat more just to eat more, especially if it’s making me gain weight or making me not lose weight.
