Staying on track

Even though last week was a disappointment, I still stayed on track and ate on my plan. Usually from 1500 – 1800 calories. I managed to lose 4 pounds this week. As long as I am losing weight I will stick with my eating plan. I’m starting to get tired of eating salads every day for lunch, but I don’t know what else to eat.

I went shopping this weekend to buy clothes for work. Lane Bryant is so expensive. The pants were $69. But Lane Bryant always has great sales. So it was a sale where you buy one pair of pants get the second half off. So I bought 2 pair of those $69 pants. Then the clearance rack had some cool pants for $19.99 and $39. So I bought those. I am wearing the biggest size I ever have. The size 26 pants were too tight, so I had to get size 28. I was really appalled that I am that big. Just 2 years ago I was a 22. It’s mostly my huge stomach that’s pushing me into the bigger size.

    Hey Vicki,

    I’ve been following your blog got over a year and cheering for you. I know how monotonous salads can get if you don’t spice them up. Have you tried switching up your salads? Like going for a Greek salad (quinoa, cucumbers, olives, tomatoes, red onions, balsamic vinegar, and a good olive oil) or fajita salad (chicken, lettuce, bell peppers, black beans, corn, onions, plain Greek yogurt as a sour cream replacement and homemade salsa for dressing). Getting creative with salads is hard but worth it if you are stuck on eating them for lunch.

    Soups are another great lunch and you can prep them on the weekend. Or having a million and one healthy snacks, like homemade trail mix (seeds, nuts, dried fruit, and just a little bit of chocolate or carob chips), veggies with hummus, banana or apples with nut butter, plain Greek yogurt with fruit and honey, AND hard boiled eggs, helps keep cravings away.

    Hi,
    I get a variety of salads from Trader Joe’s. They have some of the ones you suggested. I’ve just blown through the variety over the last 3 months. Thanks for the snack ideas
