Treat Yo Self

I want to thank my mom for coming into my work and taking advantage of the “Buy 1 Get 2 Free” clearance sale. She bought me a top and that helped me mentally so much because I am accustomed to buying myself some things every month and I just can’t do that for awhile.

I have to build an emergency fund AND pay off my credit card debt.

I was not paying cash for the items I was buying myself every month over the past year, I was putting it on credit and now I owe $3570 in credit card debt. That is scary as my income is only $1259 per month and I have to pay for living expenses just like anyone else. I am determined to pay off this credit card debt as quickly as possible cause as you know credit cards charge interest and finance payments.

One thing I do to treat myself is take advantage of the free gifts that different company’s offer. For example every month Bath & Bodyworks sends me a coupon for a $6 free gift with no purchase necessary. I’m using that to treat myself to some hand lotion this month to put in my purse.

The other thing I do is pay for my groceries with a Ulta credit card that pays me back points for everything I buy. I pay off the grocery credit card in full each month though.

Anyway with my points I can buy items at Ulta. Right now I have a $20 points credit with Ulta because of that credit card. I’m not sure what I’m going to buy with it, maybe a lipstick and some retinol. I might just save it up till I get more points. Or maybe I will buy a sparkly head band cause I really want one. If you want to buy me a sparkly head band please check out my Amazon Wishlist:

Anyway, you have to sacrifice to get what you want and I really want to get rid of my credit card debt. People tell me to treat myself, but I can’t afford to treat myself with debt. But I will treat myself with these free gift offers. 😁

I am watching this girl to inspire me to pay off my debt, she follows Dave Ramsey. This girl is amazing, she has taught me so much. She is the reason I added an Emergency Fund to my budget.

She showed me the Every Dollar app ( ) and I spent tonight inputting my budget into the app. This app made me realize I make $60 more than I thought, each month. So that extra money is going towards building an Emergency Fund and A ‘sinking fund’ for my car maintenance such as oil changes.

I feel I am on my way to a healthier and less stressful financial future.
